3 Days to go

Well I finnish work on wednesday (despite putting in notice to finnish today), and this will be a drunkem mess of a night I plan on consuming several pints and a bottle of Jacobs Creek sparkeling Rosé. This should put me in a well drunken state and remain relatively cheap as the boss owes me 5 pints.
Thursday I have planned a picknick in Regents Park then a visit to the Zoo and finnish off with dinner allong the grand union canal. This should all be the makings of a good day.
Friday I'll Do a full day trip to the Science Museum and maybey Squeeze in a vitis to the Tate Modern.
Saturday will probably be spent um doing stuff as will Sunday. Monday will be packing and Tuesday I catch a train!

All in all I can't wait!!!!!!

On a side note I have for you a breif anecdote.
Yesterday morning before we opened (somewhere around 10am) I was sitting in the bar eating my breakfast when a fellow (of darken skin) well under the influence tried to negotiate unsucessfully past the chair we had sitting in the door way to inidcate we wern't open. Now this isn't a big task by any measure simply life the chair, move the chair then walk through. However this guy couldn't seem to manage it. To save him some effort and because we wern't open, I advised the said fellow "Sorry mate, we don't open 'till 12". To which the intoxicated lad (now somewhat distraught at his inability to negotiate the chair) replied in a hostile tone "Is it because I'm black?"

Now all I have to say about that is, where the hell did that come from?

Have Fun and look after the kittens.

Blue People Madness

Yesterday I ticked off my list one of ths things I've wanted to do since i got to london but have been just too dissorganised to get around to it.
I saw the BLUE MAN GROUP!!!!!! and it was the soooooo damned entertaining.
I managed to score a ticket for a measly £5 (super bargain) because I tagged allong with a group of people staying at the hostel I stayed at when I first got here 5 months ago.

So if they ever make it to a part of the world your local to at the time put in a good effort to seem them it's well worth it.

Have fun and everyone say "We love you dave"

Ready, Get Set

Ok so you all know by now that I'm off to wales.
If you want to know where exactly click on the link below.
Google Map
Plans are moving allong swiftly. I've told the boss I'm going. I've only got one more week of work. I've bought my tickets (I opted for the budget £14 ones), and I Travel on 08/08/2006.

I get one last week of nothing less in lond which will be nice because I want to go visit the Tate again and check out their new exhibition. I also want to spent a full day in the Science museum. I might even squeeze in a trip to the Zoo (something I was planning on doing when I first got here). And perhaps one more night of drunken madness but hopefully I'll keep this one within a reasonable budget.

Ohh the trir through Europe looks like it'll be changing quite a bit. Instead of starting in Paris I'll be catching a ferry straight to Amsterdam. Then we'll train it to berlin for the Oktoberfest madness! Depending on how funds look I want ot get down to spain for a could of days (hopefully ryan air can do that on the cheap)

It looks like J will get here on the 8th or 10th of september, I'm not sure what's happening with timmy because I've just heard murmers that he's coming over also (which would be awesome)

Well have fun and watch out for low flying cows.

And we're moving

Well I've finally decided I've been in london long enough and I need a break.

My next stop will be to visit some relatives in wales in a small town called llangwm. How long I'll be there and what I'll be doing is still to be decided but it's about time I moved on. A tentative date of transition is the 1st of August. The train tril will be a mamoth 5 hour journey. One way the trip I can get a ticket for a low at £14, however for £33 I can do it in fist class. Now my question to you is 5 hours is a bloody long time to be stuck in a train. Is the upgrade to first class likely to be worth the extra £19?

The town is heaps small and I doubt I'll be able to find a job in the area, but at least It'll be a chance to relax for a bit after working so much.

Minicab Mayhem

Last night I went out for a night on the town in london.
The problem is in london the places that stay open late are hard to find.
The first club I went to was a place called woodys it was ok music was average crowd were average the lighting was terrible and drinks were expensive, but they were open.
After an hour or so me and the work collegue I went out with decided it was time to make a move, and we ended up at a club in soho called bar 16. This place was a full waste of money. £5 entry for women £10 for guys (that converts to about au$25 for guys) anyway Once in the club we walked through and byeond the first bar as tthe music was shit and heaps quiet. ON the second floor ther was groovy tunes but the crowd in that room consisted on a measley 4 guys, so back down to the first floor it was.
10 of 15 minutes in there and they closed that bar and ushered everyone up stairs to the second floor. Which was better but the music has deterioated and the ballance of guys to girls was seriously out to put it mildly (something like 10 guys to 1 girl). So I decided to leave this place in search of another place thats open. My work collegue decided to stay there as she was having a great time.
In my search for another place I managed to hook up with a bunch of Irish fellas who were in search of the same thing (somewhere decent to drink).

We then proceeded to catch cab after cab to clubs on reccomendations from cabbies to find they were either closed of unsuitable. This continues for about an hour and a half, before everyone gave up.

After this I went solo on a mission to find on last place in the area we ended up in that was supposed to be open. The place was indeed open it was actually the first club I was goin to after bar 16 however it was their back entrance and wern't letting people in.

So I decided to go for a wander looking for a dodgy cabby to take me home and I found the meat market. I the spent the next half an hour trying hunting for chicken kabana, which was unfruitfull given that none of the guys in the market had even heard the word kabana (even the places that sold smoked meat. I found kabana in one shop in a 1.5kg bag labled kabanos but that was ay more kabana than I wanted.

The morals of the story are :-
* If it's cheaper for girls to get in then it's probably full of guys, and not that good anyway.
* If a cabby tells you this club is open, only belive him if he's a black cab driver.
* It may be almost impossible to find chicken kabana in london.

Have fun and watch out for little old ladies.
